Pricing

What You Pay For

When you call, you're paying for a diagnosis, the part that actually failed, the labor to put it in right, and the drive out from our shop in Indio.

No vanishing service fee

We don't pad a bill with a service fee that disappears if you book the repair - the truck that comes to look at your door is the same truck that fixes it. What changes job to job is the part.

Priced per actual fault

A broken torsion spring on a double door is a different job than a worn roller or a opener logic board that's given up, and we price what's actually wrong rather than a flat number for "garage door problem.

Parts lead time disclosure

If the part isn't on the truck, we'll tell you up front rather than leave you waiting on one that's three weeks out from the supplier - not every job closes same visit. We don't service anything outside garage doors and openers - no gates, no fencing.

If your opener or door is old enough that the part isn't something we carry on the truck, we'll tell you that up front rather than have you wait at home for a part that's three weeks out from the supplier - that's a real limitation, not every job closes same visit. We don't install or service anything outside garage doors and openers - no gates, no fencing. If that's what you need, we'll say so instead of taking the job and figuring it out later.

What to expect

How a Call Goes

You call, describe what the door is doing - won't open, stuck halfway, spring snapped, opener clicking but not moving the door - and we ask a few questions to guess at the part before the truck ever leaves Indio.

  1. Bringing the right parts

That matters because some of the towns we cover are a short hop and some are a real drive, and knowing roughly what's wrong lets us bring the right spring size or roller set instead of making a second trip.

  2. Distance affects scheduling

Bermuda Dunes and Desert Palms are close enough that a same-day slot is usually easy to find. Out past Sky Valley, Mecca, or Oasis, distance starts to matter more for scheduling, and we'll tell you honestly if that means tomorrow morning instead of this afternoon.

  3. Inspection before quoting

Once the truck's there, we look at the door in person before quoting anything - a cable off its drum can look like a dead opener until someone's actually standing in the garage. You get the number before any work starts, and the job either gets done that visit or we tell you exactly why not and what the next step is.

Local housing

The Area and Its Housing

Ordered by how far they sit from our Indio shop: Bermuda Dunes (3 mi), Desert Palms (5 mi), Indian Wells (6 mi), Coachella (6 mi), Vista Santa Rosa (8 mi), Thousand Palms (9 mi), Thermal (10 mi), Rancho Mirage (11 mi), Sky Valley (13 mi), Mecca (15 mi), Cathedral City (15 mi), Oasis (16 mi), Desert Edge (18 mi), and Garnet (19 mi).

What's useful to know across all fourteen is that the housing stock doesn't swing wildly from town to town the way distance might suggest. Most of it across this stretch of the valley went up between 1977 and 1999, with the typical house dating to 1987 - a run of 1980s and 90s tract construction that shows up whether you're five miles out or eighteen. That means the common failure points are similar region-wide: original torsion hardware from that era, openers on their second or third logic board, and nylon rollers that have outlived their grease.

The house has a brown garage door with windows and a light brown exterior.

The one factor that does shift with distance isn't the door, it's us - how fast we can get a truck there. Heat is the other constant. Summers here are severe enough that lubricant dries out and plastic idler pulleys crack faster than they would somewhere milder, regardless of which of these towns the garage sits in.

Questions

Common questions

Do you have a shop or crew based in Bermuda Dunes or Coachella?

No - we run out of Indio and drive to the towns we cover, including Bermuda Dunes and Coachella. We don't keep a second location or stationed crew in any of them; every job is dispatched from the Indio shop.

Why does it take longer to get someone out to Mecca or Oasis?

Those are two of the farther points we cover, 15 and 16 miles out, and same-day slots fill from the closer side of the valley first. We'll still come, we're just upfront that a morning call from farther out may land an afternoon or next-day slot instead of same-hour.

My house was built in the late 80s - is that why my spring keeps failing?

Possibly. A lot of houses in this part of the valley date to right around 1987, and original torsion springs from that era are well past a normal lifespan. Heat cycling speeds that up too. Worth having it checked before it snaps rather than after.

Do you replace doors or just fix what's broken?

Both - we'll tell you which makes sense once we've looked at it. If the opener and hardware are sound and it's one broken part, we fix that. If the door's old enough that parts are getting hard to source, replacement is usually the honest answer.
